Hilda Gardner is a German-born children's book writer and illustrator who wanted to use her website to give people a taste of her work, not only in terms of displaying text from her books, but images as well.

Rather than go down the route of using a standard Gallery to display some of her beautiful artwork, we decided to build the whole website out of montages of her pictures, to allow people to fully immerse themselves in her unique and strange world.

The result is a website based around the idea of a children's book itself, that contains short passages from her books, and many examples of her art.

There is a deliberate childlike simplicity to the graphics, so that the look of the site will appeal to children and adults alike.
